Nigra by Night by StangWolf Nigra by Night by StangWolf
Here she is! In all her glory!

May I introduce you to the lovely Nigra, a female gargoyle belonging too *Jaibyrd.

Been a long time coming this piece of art...lots longer than it should have, but that's my fault. I do appreciate *Jaibyrd's patience, and I hope it paid off!

Also....YAY first complete piece of art for 2013! ^^

Gosh I'm always blown away with what you can manage with traditional media-and markers of all things! All I think about are how they dry so quickly and you gotta color big things in sections and mind the bleeding- ugh. You make it look so effortless.

Of all things I'm drawn to the rocks, haha is that weird? Just how the gargoyles shadow trails over the uneven surface- looove it.

Well thank you so very much for the lovely comment!

I actually do give some of the credit to those lovely Prismacolor markers, I'm not exactly sure what it is about them but they make coloring and blending easier than most markers...granted I still can't dee-dawdle around when I'm working on something. It helps to kinda have a plan on what colors I'm going to use beforehand as well as a map in my head of where my color path will go. If that all makes sense lol.

Haha not weird at all...I have to say, those rocks were a total blast to not only sketch and ink but to color too! It is kinda weird, since ya know...they're just rocks, but even so, they were really fun! Got to test myself with them too and see if I could pull off some at least halfway decent lighting affects there with the moon and Nigra there, and make the various levels and surfaces stand out how I envisioned them.

It's awesome! Thank you so much for doing it! As I pointed out to you earlier, I love all the little details in this, the trim design, how her kimono's color reflects on her skin, the moon behind her!

Certainly well worth the wait!
